Our Structure

We value a team leadership model for a diversity of perspectives and ideas and to protect a single leader (pastor or ministry leader) from burn-out. Our council is elected by our membership to operate the business functions for the church. This includes recruiting staff members and providing fiscal management. At this time, we have two bi-vocational pastors who address the pastoral needs and spiritual development of our congregation. Additionally, our pastors partner with the council to promote the church's vision for growth and community engagement.

Our Pastors

Reid Harris

Reid joined Renovatus in 2015 and immediately found it to be a community that felt like coming home. Being rejuvenated by the love and kindness of God in this church, Reid went back to school to graduate in 2020 with his Masters in Theological Studies. Reid’s loves include his lifelong partner Amy, his three boys: Caleb, Ben, and Levi, golf, basketball, Carolina Panthers Football, hiking with their dog Luna and exploring for great food in the Charlotte area.

Ruth Russell

Pastor Ruth is from Syracuse, NY but has lived in the south for well over a decade. She started attending Renovatus Church in 2017 and immediately felt at home. “It was the first time that I knew I could bring my whole self to the table, I no longer had to hide my sexuality and could still be in the space of figuring out my faith without fear of judgment. Renovatus has a special space in my heart and I feel incredibly honored to do life with these people.”

Laci Wong

Laci has been attending Renovatus with her family since 2014. She has her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and has been working in education for around 15 years. She enjoys planning new adventures and places to explore with her family, celebrating with her friends, dancing, going to the theatre, and recommending tv shows, movies, and books that she thinks you might love. She is honored to work with the kids and families at Renovatus, and hopes that together we can look to the Bible to find a God that is trustworthy and full of love, and in turn live a life that reflects Him.
